The Boat Behind The Adventure

About Us

Sail Darwin was born from a love of the sea and the wild beauty of the Northern Territory. Our small, passionate crew has spent years exploring these waters and sharing their magic with guests from around the world.

Whether it’s a laid-back sunset cruise, a private charter to hidden coves, or a multi-day adventure into remote coastlines, we’re here to show you Darwin from a whole new perspective—under sail, with warm hospitality and a genuine connection to Country.

About the Boat

Our vessel, Sundancer NT, is a 15-metre (50-foot) luxury sailing catamaran purpose-built for tropical cruising and extended expeditions. Her twin aluminium hulls offer exceptional stability and space, while a full suite of modern navigation and communication systems ensures a smooth and safe journey.

Inside, five air-conditioned cabins, generous saloon spaces, and thoughtfully designed deck areas make Sundancer both comfortable and versatile—perfect for everything from intimate sunset sails to multi-day remote adventures.

Sundancer has been used as a charter vessel for a range of different purposes
  • As a mothership for exclusive barramundi ‘run-off’ fishing charters around the NT coastline
  • As a research vessel for NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association) in East Timor and Indonesia
  • As a humanitarian vessel, delivering aid and supplies to Saumlaki and the Tanimbar Islands
  • As a live-aboard diving vessel in East Timor and Indonesia
  • As a pleasure vessel for exploring very remote parts of the Top End and Kimberley coastline in comfort
  • As a private getaway for corporate meetings and events
